All the Right Reasons

People come into our lives for a reason...

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,

to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.

They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,

this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.  Sometimes they walk away.

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.

They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.

They may teach you something you have never done.

They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.

Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,

things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson,

love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life,

whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Back on xanga...for now

 Wow! Long time.

So...San Angelo was a good time.

Christmas was awesome (see pictures from skiing).

New Year's --not so great! We got snowed in in Colorado, so I spent New Year's Eve on a plane ride from Denver to Dallas. My brother and I got home around 1:00am New Year's. We saw the ball drop on an airport monitor.

Back on campus and counting down the days!

Here are some pics from my crazy holiday's.

It's been quite a while! Amarillo is great! I just spent a week a week ago at Girl Power camp. One phrase sums that up- little girl chaos! It was a fabulous time, and I even had a chance to work on my not-so tan! Let's see...Jimmy just came to Amarillo to do some interviews for his job, and I went along to meet and observe PR. We had a good time, and I met some really neat people. It was nice to have a little time with my brother- I even bought him coffee. (I'm a nice sister.) Umm...today was my fist Sunday completely in charge of the Amarillo corps. All went well in the services and we had a great time together. I have grown to really love this corps. God has put a burden in my heart to see growth within the corps youth. Please pray that God will give me wisdom and creative ideas for outreach. I am so excited to see what is going to happen with the ideas that he has already given me. Oh, can't finish this without saying Happy late 4th of July! God Bless America!!!!!

The Wildfires

The other night the Amarillo Salvation Army canteen was deployed to wildfires in Dumas. I was called by the officer around 8:00pm to go out and help on the canteen. I drove my van out to the sight which was about 10 miles north of Amarillo. By the time I got to the rest of the crew it was getting dark, but the fires could be seen everywhere. It was crazy. At first we were right in the action, but we were told to move north a few miles to a ranch. We went up to the ranch and set up our canteen. The firefighters were waiting to be told where to go, so we took that opportunity to talk to them and give them lots of water. There was one guy who became like the radio guy for the other firefighters, and one guy who had been hurt recently and could not go into the fire. They sat with us most of the night. Several trucks came in and out of the ranch that night, and I believe that we definitely were "Doing the Most Good." One team that came by had been through a lot the past year. The leader said that they had lost two men this year. I have to say that my respect for the fire department continues to grow every time I meet another firefighter.

Please be in prayer for us this summer. Wildfires are very previlant here, and the dry heat and gusty wind do not really help the situation. Please pray for rain.
